wow, good question.

i think being in touch with your emotional side is always a good thing and in a psychologist the patient always tries to get some kind of empathy from you so i believe that part you'll do well :P but with empathy comes attachment and that isn't always good. for you, specially. sometimes we want to help someone else so much we get caught in their problems and can even bring them into our own lives. i hope you'll eventually get the necessary detachment in order to help to your patients. but apart from emotions, you have also to keep in mind that you are there sort of like a referee. you give the patient tools for him or her to work on, even if they don't notice it at the time. you provide them the open door through which they'll eventually see the light.

but my question to you is: what are you afraid of?

big kiss honey *

love you lots
